Welcome to Film Festival Reviews

We set up this blog as a resource for independent filmmakers to help them naviagate the festival landscape. We’re not going to be reviewing Sundance, SXSW or Cannes etc, we know you want your film to play at those festivals, but what if your don’t get in? Where do you go next? There are now over 8,000 film festivals on FilmFreeway, some are great, some not so great and some are just scams set up to try and get your hard earned submission money.

On this blog you will find reviews of festivals written by filmmakers that have actually attended them and will include information on what the communication from the festival like, where the films screened, how well the festival was marketed, what was the attendance like, by filmmakers, industry professionals and audiences, was the programming of high quality and provide a diverse line-up.
